For over 100 years, Claremont Veterinary Hospital has provided compassionate veterinary care for cats and dogs in our community. Our mission is to always be there for your pet in the same way your pet is always there for you.
Our hospital opened to patients in 1918 and has been a fixture of the close-knit Rockridge community ever since. We are proud to be the first woman owners of this well-loved practice, just the fourth in 100 years of providing high-quality veterinary medicine for four-legged family members.
We are looking for a compassionate and positive RVT to support our veterinary hospital in providing excellent patient care. Our ideal candidate is willing to work at a fast pace, multitask and share their talents and knowledge base. Strong candidates should be proficient in the following:
- Animal Handling and Restraint
- Familiarity with Fear Free Practices
- IV Catheter Placement
- Venipuncture
- Endotracheal Tube Placement
- Managing anesthetic and sedated patients
- Cystocentesis
- Properly Obtaining Lab Samples
- Familiarity with animal disease protocols
- Pharmaceutical knowledge
- Aseptic technique
- Radiographs
- Bandaging/Splinting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Animal Husbandry
- Assist in holding and restraining animals during exams and procedures
- Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools
- Anesthesia assistance and monitoring during routine and emergency surgeries
- Blood and urine collection
- Peripheral IV catheter placement
- Perform radiographs
- Care for anesthetic patients pre-, intra- and post operatively
- Ability to fill prescriptions and review them with clients
- Bonus for knowledge and/or interest in dental procedures!
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $30+/hr based on experience
